Rev. Henry R. Davis

Pastor Henry R. Davis was born one of five children to the late Ethel and Henry Davis, in Florence, SC.  Pastor Davis graduated from Wilson High School in Florence.  He is a graduate of North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro NC.   He also attended John Wesley School of Theology, High Point, NC.

 

Pastor Davis is a member of Mt. Zion AME Church, Greensboro NC, where he began his ministry under the late Rev. Dr. J. T. McMillan.

 

Pastor Davis has been appointed to several AME churches in the Virginia Annual Conference, some of which are St. Luke, Danville, New Hope, Chatham, Meadowview, Fieldale (Built New Sanctuary in 1989), and St. Paul, Danville.  Since transferring from Virginia to Western North Carolina.  Pastor Davis has pastored Union Bethel AME Church, Winston Salem, NC, St. Joseph AME Church, Aberdeen, NC. Rev Davis is currently the pastor of Mount Zion AME Church, Greensboro, NC.    To God be the Glory, Rev. Davis has enthusiastically answered the roll call in the 2nd Episcopal District for Itinerant Elders in the African Methodist Episcopal Church for more than 30 years.

 

Rev. Davis is a retired US Postal Service Employee, Greensboro, NC, who served for more than 43 years.

 

He is married to Rev. Arnita Brooks Davis of Martinsville, VA.  They are blessed with a blended family of one son, Leon and 2 daughters, Elder Lisa Keen and Toni Keen (Deceased).  They also have one grand-daughter and 5 grandsons.

 

Pastor Davis is a humble man of God, yet he is a mighty man of valor. God has gifted Pastor Davis with the ability to take listeners with him through the scriptures, causing the Word of God to leap from the pages of timeless manuscript, and challenging them as they never dreamed possible. He possess a love for all people.

 

God is using his ministry to change the lives of people.  With his bold and anointed preaching and teaching, he is determined to reach the lost and the hurting with messages of hope and deliverance.   Through his belief in God, he teaches that it is possible for all of God’s children to live a victorious life.  He is a man of vision, wisdom, character and integrity…”A man after God’s own heart”.
